Two arrested for car theft in Bauchi

T he Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two individuals for alleged involvement in criminal conspiracy and car theft. The suspects— 30-year-old Ibrahim Uzeru from Kashere Santuraki in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State and 35-year-old John Paul from the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi State— were apprehended after a stolen vehicle was traced to their possession. According to a statement issued by the Spokesman of the Command, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the arrest followed a report made on March 29, 2025, by Yahaya Haruna, a 41-year-old resident of Gidan Gona, Bauchi. Haruna had parked his green 2000 model Honda Civic, with registration number ALK-627-GG, at Yelwan Tudu Market around 6:00 p.m. and returned shortly after to find the vehicle missing. A team of detectives was immediately assigned to investigate the theft and recover the car. T he Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA) has faulted the World Bank’s privatisation reforms for water supply in some states of the federation, saying they have failed the citizens and local communities.   M ore than 3,500 residents from the 20 local government areas of Bauchi State have benefited from the Ramadan support programme of Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, a Bauchi-based non-governmental organisation. The Organisation’s Programme Manager, Ango Mustapha, said that the beneficiaries are mostly less privileged and the poorest of the poor in the communities.   2 arrested For Allegedly Killing Motorcycle Rider In Bauchi T he Bauchi State Police Command have arrested two suspects over the killing of a motorcycle rider in Dosho village, near Darazo town in Bauchi State. The command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement, said, ‘’On March 5, an incident report was available at the disposal of Darazo Divisional Police Headquarters that a motionless body of an unidentified individual was found lying along Dosho Village, near Darazo, with multiple injuries.’’ Wakil explained that a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer visited the scene and evacuated the unidentified body to the General Hospital, Darazo, where the victim was certified dead by a medical doctor.
